Vinicola Real’s Urbion Reserva was crafted from grapes grown in a very special single 100-year-old vineyard in the Urbion Mountain Range bordering the Rioja and Ribera del Duero appellations. Older vines produce less, more concentrated fruit and the 2005 vintage comes highly rated.
Vinícola Real was established in 1992 by master distiller and winemaker, Miguel Ángel Rodríguez, who now manages 25 hectares of vineyards in four different Rioja Alta zones. Vines are grown using organic methods without chemical treatments and all grapes are harvested by hand and sorted prior to crushing. The cellars are actually located in the town of Albelda de Iregua, where Miguel practices traditional viticulture and produces small quantities of quality Rioja.
Intense cherry red colour, lovely black fruit aromas of this Tempranillo. Meaty in the mouth, well balanced with tender tannins. Lovely chocolate and coffee notes persist on a long finish.

The 2005 Urbion Reserva is a pure Tempranillo that has a fresh bouquet of dark cherries, licorice and again, blood orange that is well-defined…The palate is structured and masculine with firm tannins and a broody dry finish.
