Owners Miguel Ángel Alonso and María José Galera and winemakers Raúl Pérez and Marta Ramas are working to uncover and reinvigorate traditional winegrowing in the region, making limited production wines from indigenous grape varieties like Mencia and Prieto Picudo.

Las Quintas is produced from the very oldest vines in the estate dating from the pre-phylloxera period on the northern side of the Jamuz River Valley. The soil is very poor and mainly sandy. The grapes are exposed to the winds off Mount Teleno and extensive sunlight, making them very fruity with light tannins.
Harvested by hand in 15-kg boxes. Manual selection in the vineyard. Aged in large French-oak barrels for 12 months

Tasting Note

Cherry, very expressive and bright. The red fruit is intense and well accompanied by elegant toasted notes and minerals. Mouth delicate and fresh, unctuous and sweet step. It leaves pleasant fruity sensations well assembled with smoked tones and spices. Polished tannins Long and persistent finish.

Critical Acclaim

17/20. Deep crimson. Sweet and rich and utterly seductive. Most people would love this, surely! Flies off the palate – sweet but refreshing and no awkward edges. A wine with a story, surely,  And very long.  Rich but fresh. Hint of tamarind. Super clean, Long. Great balance.
